NEW WORLD SUPERMARKET

This project was a redevelopment of an existing supermarket. The main aims were to create a modern public front to the building, and increase space for retail, offices and storage.

The building was extended on two sides: The northern extension housing new freezers, chillers and working area on the ground floor, with offices, meeting rooms and staff facilities on the first floor. The west extension provides more retail space and a new main entry. All plant and services were upgraded at the same time.

The design makes use of the client's preference for precast concrete, expressing it throughout and balanced with some composite aluminium cladding.
