Arthouse_site

Arthouse_site incorporates architectural aspects of The Arthouse Architecture Building into the work by acknowledging the existing structure of the interior and exterior space. Visual aspects of the location are absorbed into the artwork through a combination of subtle and brightly coloured geometric adhesive vinyl forms to develop a dynamic site specific installation artwork.

Motifs inherent in the work are designed by emphasizing visual aspects that exist within the site, both visible and internal, or under the skin. Details of the exterior facade of the building are incorporated into the composition, alongside abstracted forms that hint at architectural structural devices, such as interlocking joints, frames or jambs. The original use of the building as home to J.H. Cock & Co., General Merchants and Warehouseman add to the conversation with form and colour when composing the work through the application of nautical flag like shapes.
